How the fit-tech, health-tech, and well-tech sectors are taking company culture to another dimension, and why you’ll want to be shown in the door.
Our series of six articles, looking at progressive, future-forward brands that are taking their company cultures to a whole new dimension, continues with another trailblazer. In this, Part 3, we look at boutique studio operator Fhitting Room.
Fhitting Room
Fhitting Room, which owns and operates three NYC-based boutique fitness studios, specializing in functional high-intensity training and strength classes, is another brand that knows how to rock its company culture. As a result, it was recently named as one of the top 20 small businesses to work at in 2021 by amNewYork.
It all started with an email sent by Kari Saitowitz to a close friend with the simple subject line of “Gym Idea.” Less than a year later, the first Fhitting Room studio opened on Manhattan’s Upper East Side – and Kari had become the founder and CEO of Fhitting Room.
The healthy workplace culture is evidenced by the fact that three out of the four original founding fitness professionals are still with Fhitting Room. The company is also committed to making a difference in its community – supporting organizations such as The Harlem Academy, El Centro Hispano, Color of Change, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital – showing that it has real values and a strong heart. We love brands like this!
Talking to amNewYork, a representative said, “At Fhitting Room, we address Diversity and Inclusion with the depth and significance it deserves. We know we’re not perfect, but we strive for progress and growth.”
No one nails company culture overnight; it’s a process. The brands that understand this continue taking positive, progressive steps each and every day, so, Fhitting Room, this is music to our ears!
